As a designer, the fascination with cooking lies in deconstructing the experience of eating down to the sensory level . Each component of sight, smell, touch, and finally taste are broken down into ever smaller parts. Under the guidance of centuries of knowledge passed down from country to country, region to region and person to person the parts are recombined into a whole again in ever new and exciting combinations. To participate in the kitchen and the preparation of food is to join a very human conversation that has it's echoes in the first fires that where tamed eons ago. Cooking is a timeless pursuit of pleasure both derived and shared and I want to enjoy it in every way possible. These photos are a part of that.
